We are seeing a significant increase in demand and need great new teachers to help ensure that all young musicians can flourish. We have a number of opportunities available starting in January 2026.

  • Upper strings teaching, mainly based in the Amersham area
  • Saturday morning string ensemble leader at Amersham Music Centre
  • Saturday morning ensemble leader at Aylesbury Music Centre for Intermediate Orchestra and Concert Band

Applications for any combination of these opportunities are especially welcome, and once part of the organisation other teaching may become available.

    About these teaching roles

    Buckinghamshire Music Trust inspires exciting, meaningful and engaging musical experiences for every child in the county.

    We are seeking committed, dynamic and passionate teachers to make a high quality, practical impact through individual, group and ensemble teaching. This is an opportunity to really make a difference.

    All roles are part-time, with FTE to be agreed on appointment. Teaching is area-based by agreement, and roles can be tailored by location and by the amount of teaching you would like to do. These details are discussed at interview.

    Once you are part of BMT there will be opportunities to get involved in ensembles, projects and our three music centres across the county.

    We are looking for teachers who:

    • Are enthusiastic musicians with strong instrumental or vocal skills
    • Enjoy working with children and young people
    • Are committed to high standards of teaching and learning
    • Are able to work both independently and as part of a team

    Employment package: Our employment package includes a competitive salary based on experience and qualifications, pension contributions and paid mileage between teaching locations.
