Buckinghamshire Music Trust is thrilled to include Hi-Gain band sessions as part of its offer at Music Centre.
Hi-Gain is an after-school activity for musicians in bands or who learn an instrument and would like to gain experience of playing in a group. The sessions take place weekly during term time at our three main Music Centres in High Wycombe, Aylesbury, and Amersham.
Hone your craft...
Hi-Gain is a group activity for musicians who learn an instrument and wish to join a band, songwriters and established bands, and anyone who is interested in music technology and production. This is ideal for musicians who learn a popular instrument including drums, vocals, keyboard, and electric, bass, and acoustic guitar.
Sessions will focus on projects to develop performance, songwriting and technology skills to enable students to record and publish their music. There are regular performance opportunities through Guitari Lounge, Battle of the Bands, and events to showcase the talents and growth of our participants.
We have some exceptional participants from as young as 8 years old but our scheme of work is broad and caters for pupils with a minimum playing experience of Grade 2 to Grade 8 and beyond.
What does Hi-Gain mean?
In technical terms, adding gain amplifies the input volume of the source signal i.e. drums, vocal, or electric guitar. High gain, therefore, significantly increases what you put into it. We are applying this method to our school in a nurturing, engaging, and creative environment for the participant to achieve their own hi-gain.
