We are the Buckinghamshire Music Trust (BMT), formerly known as the Buckinghamshire Music Service. We have been providing music tuition, instrumental lessons and ensemble playing across Buckinghamshire since 1963. Our professional instructors and music leaders teach over 8000 young musicians every week in primary and secondary schools as well as our Music Centres. We are also the lead organisation of the Buckinghamshire Music Hub, working with numerous other musical organisations across the county. We pride ourselves in the quality tuition we provide and the wide range of musical activities on offer for our members.

We run three Music Centres across Buckinghamshire located in Aylesbury, High Wycombe and Amersham. Each centre runs a wide range of groups, choirs and ensembles catering for young musicians aged 4 – 18 and are designed to provide excellent progression for the absolute beginner through to the most advanced player.

We offer the widest range of musical activities in Buckinghamshire for young musicians aged 4-18. Starting with Early Years groups for our youngest musicians to choirs, ensembles, concert bands, jazz bands, orchestras and even rock bands. We have groups for all ages and ability levels at all of our Music Centres. Want to have a look at our timetables?

You can join as many groups as you like for as little as £80 per term. From rock bands to ensembles, choirs, orchestras and even early years groups - there are loads of groups to join and activities to take part in. We also offer subsidies of up to 50% for eligible students, just get in touch with us at musicservice@bucksmusic.org to see whether you qualify.

Yes, you absolutely can. All instruments from our stock (subject to availability) can be hired for only £25 a term. Loans are available to all young musicians in Buckinghamshire but priority is given to BMT Music Centre members.

Our young musicians have lots of opportunities to take part in concerts, workshops, tours and events all year round. We teach over 8000 children in schools across Buckinghamshire and Music Centre members receive a fantastic discount on individual instrumental/vocal lessons at centre or at school. We also offer theory and aural tuition as well as some individual, paired and group tuition for those students for whom it is more appropriate to have lessons outside school hours.
