The Music Service runs three main Music Centres in Amersham, Aylesbury and High Wycombe; and two satellite centres in Buckingham and Iver Heath.
Each centre runs a wide range of groups, choirs and ensembles catering for young musicians aged 4 – 18 and are designed to provide excellent progression for the absolute beginner through to the most advanced player. We also offer theory and aural tuition as well as some individual, paired and group tuition for those students for whom it is more appropriate to have lessons outside school hours. All young musicians are welcome and do not have to be having lessons with BLTM tutors while we also welcome young musicians who live outside the county where this may be the best option for them in terms of provision or location. For more information about the ensembles offer, please click here.
Our Music for Munchkins programme is an excellent introduction to musical learning for children aged 4 – 6 and more information can be found here.
Our MusiKids programme is designed for any young musician interested in learning but is not sure what they wish to learn and is also an excellent progression route from Whole Class Practical Musicianship for anyone who enjoys music but wishes to try a new musical instrument. All the Centres organise a range of concerts, events and performance opportunities in the Centre, in the local area and as part of wider, larger Music Service projects. We are committed to ensuring that every child who takes part in the Centre gets the opportunity to perform as part of their provision and we also provide them with opportunities to engage with local community partners.
You can keep up to date with what is happening in each Music Centre through their termly newsletter and through Social Media via Facebook and Twitter. Please contact your local centre for any further information you may require. See contacts page for more information.
Forthcoming concerts and events are all posted on the calendar on the home page.
